Hi, Everyone:
I have been on this wonderful forum for some months now. My Chinese Crested Diva was diagnosed with CIL about 3 1/2 years ago. She was stable and gaining weight until the beginning of June when she started lose weight scary fast, went from 10.5 lbs. to 7.5 lbs. Her bones are jutting out and it is very upsetting to see her so skinny. Anyway, my dog homeopathic person said Diva's immune system was probably put into a tailspin by a rabies vaccination my vets gave her on May 12.
I had no idea what havoc a vaccination can wreak with a CIL dog. She told me I could have done a titer and then received a certificate that would allow her to avoid the vaccine. I wish I had known that BEFORE all this. I am really upset with my vets right now that they didn't tell me the risks associated with vaccinations and CIL dogs.
Anyway, she has had severe diarrhea for 10 days straight now and I am starting to lose hope. She remains chipper and alert, but she is not gaining weight.
I have her on zero fat tuna, rice, canned pumpkin, vitamins and minerals, Dr. Harvey's dehydrated veggies, prednisone, flagyl, and an appetite stimulant Mirtazipine.
Would you please say some prayers for my little girl. I am getting really worried.
