Our 6 year old sheltie was just diagnosed with lymphangiectasia this week after a 3 day stay at UGA veterinary hospital. It has been a long road to this diagnosis. At first he was thought to have cancer, and after seeing several different vets(4), we ended up at UGA, where we finally got a diagnosis. He was placed on Purina HA, and we are already seeing good results, much firmer stools. We will be placed on meds next Wednesday, when we get pathology results. I am happy to have found this group to travel this road together.
An update...Murphys vet took him off of Purina HA, and put him on Royal Canins gastro low fat, after he relapsed to severe diarrhea again. He doesn't love it, but I have added an egg white, to coax him to eat. He is getting weaker by the day. I hope we can get this disease under control before it is too late.
