My dog, Gretta, who we refer to as G, is a 12-14 year old Beagle/Shepard Mix. We started the diagnostic tests after her yearly blood work due to her thyroid issue (and her having a bout of diarrhea) came back  and it was discovered that her Albumin level was at a 1. We took her in for an ultrasound and special blood work sent to Texas A&M last Monday and she went in for an endoscopy yesterday (5/9/16). We are waiting for the biopsy results, but they are fairly certain that it is lymphangiectasia. She is currently taking Predinisone (and is peeing everywhere in the house while we are at work despite me coming home at lunch to let her out), a medication for diarrhea, and is on B12 shots once weekly for a month (at least). After given her her first dose of medication yesterday and the second this AM, her stool has seemed to harden up and she is straining less, which is great as she has had watery diarrhea for about 2-3 weeks now (with a break in between due to having medication). We haven't changed her diet yet as they are waiting for the results of the biopsy. However, she seems to be doing well. She has no issues with appetite or energy. I am hopeful that we caught it early enough for her to get the treatment she needs and that her prognosis will be good. I am glad to have found this forum as I am sure I will have several questions and need advice on diet changes and such.
Welcome. I hope you find the answers you need here. I know it has helped me tremendously.
