Hello, I'm Neena, Sox's mom (we call him Sockie a lot too). My beautiful boy is 8.5 years old - he is cream Pomeranian and the love of my life. It started about 6 - 7 months ago when the doctor diagnosed him with pancreatitis - when it flared up the second time, I knew it was more. I was fortunate enough to find this forum and find comfort with some answers finally.

He had been doing amazing after we got the actual diagnosis of CIL - low fat Hill's Science Diet ID with Carafate... well I thought he was doing so amazing that I slowly wheened him off (BIG MISTAKE) and the symptoms flared up. I feel TERRIBLE... his signs started up again about 3 months ago when he refused to have a bowel movement or eat, and when I tried to give him the canned food, he spit up.

I rushed him to ER that day and found out he does need to be on the Carafate long term - she also placed him on prednisolone for a total of 15 days.

It's been about a month/month and a half, and this week he is showing loss of interest in food and less bowel movements. I have a call with his doctor this evening and I am hoping there is something else we can try - whether it's a new diet or different meds. I just hate for him to be on steroids Sad

My heart is with you all - and I hate that any one of us and our pups have to go through this. I pray for a cure.
