Hi All,

Because of the sugar content, I want to stay away from sweet potatoes.  So, I'm wondering if anyone has opinions concerning using boiled, plain mashed white potatoes as a additive to Zoey's regular food?  I need something to bulk her up a little.  She eats the RC as much as a horse would, but she lost 4 oz. and is always hungry.  I tried boiled egg whites, she loved them, but they bothered her stomach.  A few hours after she ate them, she ran over to me and cuddled by my side, the sign that she is not feeling well.  I did the tummy rub for 15 minutes and gave her Pepsid.  She recovered in a few hours.  Could Budesonide cause her to lose some weight?  Also, would it make her urinate more often?  Her Alb dropped to 2.1 last month and we started her on the Bude.  Today her Alb is up to 3.2 so I think it is working.

Thanks for all your help, everyone.
I've tried all sorts of vegetables for Rosie other than sweet potato - including butternut squash, peas, celery...and I've concluded that she does best on sweet potato. Her food is 80 percent (or more) boiled ground turkey breast (99 percent fat free) with boiled egg whites and sweet potato. We've been able to get her albumin levels up to 2.1 (from 1.5) and without doing steroids. The diet came about after almost a year of trying everything else. Good luck.

Thank you.
